Cumberland House Child Family Services Worker Position

Position Summary:

Nechapanuk Centre is seeking a highly motivated person who is willing to meet the needs of child well-being. Child Family Services Worker will report to Child Protection Supervisor for support and direction when working with intakes and case direction. This will include working with children in care, arrange and develop reunification planning and work with parents and guardians for case planning for children On-Reserve. NCCFS Inc. follows the Child & Family Services Act from Saskatchewan and works within the context with the traditional values of membership of Cumberland House Cree Nation, Red Earth Cree Nation and Shoal Lake Cree Nation.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess either a Degree in BISW/BSW with at least one (1) year experience in Child Family Services or a Certificate in Indian Social Work with at least 3 years’ experience in Human Services.

  • Willingness to work some evenings and some weekends, if required.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships.

  • Must be organized.

  • Must be able to problem solve and make appropriate decisions (gather information and make clear decisions or recommendations.

  • Must complete a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector record.

  • Must have computer skills.

  • Must maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Must possess a Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

  • Willing to travel, scheduled office visits to Red Earth Main Office and Shoal Lake Sub Office as needed.

• Two (2) references letters with signed signatures (1 professional reference and 1 personal reference)

 

 

Please Call CH Sub Office for request of Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Letter and send to CH RCMP Detachment (this will be needed by CH RCMP Detachment).

All documents (signed) must be submitted to be screened for an interview.
